Aktualisiert: 13. Feb. 2024

Western Canada is a region full of contrasts, from vibrant cities to some of the most spectacular natural landscapes in the world. Our itinerary takes you on a two-week journey from Vancouver to Calgary as you explore the incredible diversity of British Columbia and Alberta.

Only some of the many sights are mentioned in this blog article. Some sights from our two-week trip are therefore only roughly sketched out. You can of course find more detailed information in our itinerary.

Urban flair and coastal landscapes in Vancouver

Your adventure begins in Vancouver, a cosmopolitan city surrounded by water and mountains. We recommend a bike tour around the Seawall and a culinary stroll through the Public Market on Granville Island.

Joffre Lake Provincial Park – A trio of turquoise lakes

Head north for the first hike in Joffre Lake Provincial Park. Three breathtakingly beautiful lakes, which impress with their intense color and the surrounding glaciers, offer fantastic photo opportunities and the opportunity for a hike in an idyllic landscape.

Kinney Lake – The heart of Mount Robson

We continue to Mount Robson Provincial Park, where you will hike on the trails to Kinney Lake. This less-frequented location offers a quiet retreat and the chance to marvel at the imposing peak of Mount Robson - the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies.

Jasper National Park – A paradise for wildlife watching

Your journey continues to Jasper National Park. This park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to some of Canada's wildest and most untouched landscapes. The park offers the opportunity for spectacular hikes, canoeing on Maligne Lake and a ride on the Jasper SkyTram for unparalleled views.

Icefields Parkway - A road like no other

The drive along the Icefields Parkway is definitely a highlight of the trip. The route offers unforgettable views of some of the world's oldest glaciers, waterfalls and turquoise mountain lakes. The Sunwapta Falls and the Athabasca Glacier are just a few of the many stops you should plan.

Banff National Park – A melting pot of natural wonders

Arrived in Banff National Park, you will experience the full splendor of the Rockies. A gondola ride up Sulfur Mountain and a relaxing swim in the Upper Hot Springs are perfect ways to enjoy the region's breathtaking beauty. No visit would be complete without a stop at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, two of Canada's most iconic locations.

Graduation in Calgary - The modern face of Alberta

The journey ends in Calgary, a city known for its western charm and emerging skyline. Although Calgary is often considered the gateway to the Rockies, the city has its own attractions, such as the Calgary Tower and the historic Heritage Park.

Conclusion

This two-week trip through Western Canada is an ode to nature and promises you unforgettable experiences and lasting memories. Pack your hiking boots and your adventurous spirit and get ready for a trip of a lifetime with our itinerary.
